![]() ![]() That NAS is viewable by each location's "main storage" as shared folder (over VPN). What I now need to do is get those "main storage" replicated to a single off-site QNAP TS-451A. This part works beautifully, no issues there at all. ![]() ![]() So for each location, we'll get a root folder, containing all the lab-computer names as subfolders, and from there, replication of all those files. It also does versioning so we keep a certain number of versions of modified files (although usually, it's 99% new files instead of modified ones). Individual files get copied to the "main storage", maintaining the same folder structure. So it scans about 1/2 million files on each of those computers, but have only a couple of thousand files needing to be copied as new/modified. We use a program called FreeFileSync for that. In all of those cases tho, it's just a Shared folder on a windows network.ĭaily, each location scans the lab computers, for any new/modified files from a specific folder. We have various lab instruments connected to computers, and each location has a "main storage" area, either as a shared folder on a standalone PC, or a NAS, or a file server. However, each location operates very similarly. On a regular day to day scenario, data is not shared between those locations. We have multiple locations, independent from one another from a network perspective. It is probably not that unusual for a lot of people, but I'm definitely not all that familiar with what's out there and the best way of action. I am trying to finish solving a puzzle here, and I'm having some issues. ![]()
